About the project

The primary objective of POLARIS is to build an integrated geodynamic model of the Arctic back to the start of the Devonian times (ca. 410 Million years ago).
The focus is on the interplay of tectonics and whole mantle convection, to explain magmatic events and significant changes in palaeogeography.
