The primary objective of POLARIS is to build an integrated geodynamic model of the Arctic back to the start of the Devonian times (ca. 410 Million years ago).<\/strong>
The focus is on the interplay of tectonics and whole mantle convection, to explain magmatic events and significant changes in palaeogeography.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
